Website Wednesday: Tuts+

Video tutorials are a wonderful thing.  A website that has a vast array of video tutorials is an even better thing; introducing "Tuts+".  Started in 2007, Tuts+ initially had online video tutorials dedicated mostly to Freelancing and Photoshop.  Over the last seven years, Tuts+ has expanded their subject matter to include tutorials on: Design & Illustration, Code (HTML), Web Design, Music & Audio, Photography, 3D & Motion Graphics, and Business.

Given the nature of our department, let's take a closer look at what Tuts+ has to offer in terms of "Photography".  A courses featured on Tuts+ that might interest beginners include topics such as, Fundamentals of Photography, Introduction to DSLR, Adobe Bridge, Lightroom and Photoshop for Photographers, Introduction to Flash Photography, and Painting with Light.  If you're more advanced in the subject of photography, you may be interested in: Advanced Depth of Field and Exposure, Green Screen Photography, Video and Presentation Style Video, Building a Black and White Portfolio Workflow, Everyday Photo Retouching, and Corporate Filmmaking.  There are also a vareity of tutorials dedicated to the manipulation of photographs such as, Manipulating Color for Photography and Advanced Photo Manipulation (Part I and II).  Finally, to pull it all together, there's a great course called "Going Pro with Photography" to save for last!

By this point, I'm sure you've noticed the little green boxes that read "$25".  The best things in life might be free but when you need to learn a topic quickly, that twenty-five dollars might also be well spent!  Not to mention... we all have to make a living, so who can blame the crew over at Tuts+ for charging a bit of money for their high-quality videos?  To see an example of a Tuts+ video, check out the introduction for Painting with Light:
